As more people in return to work, government advice continues to be to only travel if your journey is necessary. Buses are here if you need them and play a vital role in letting people make necessary journeys.
The safety of our customers and employees is our priority so, in line with government guidance, we’ve put in place measures to help our customers to practise social distancing and travel on our services.
Make a plan:
- Allow extra time for your journey and try to travel at off-peak times, where possible.
- Check our latest timetables before you travel.
Social distancing at the bus stop:
- At bus stops, try to keep 2 metres away from anyone else in the queue.
- Let people off the bus before you get on and try to keep a safe distance between you, the driver and other customers.
- Pay by your smartcard, contactless card or smart phone where possible.
Social distancing on the bus:
- Sit in the window seat, leaving the seats in front and behind you empty and don’t sit directly behind the driver.
- Only one person can sit in a double seat, unless you’re with a member of your household.
- Don’t stand on the bus.
- Once you’re on the bus open a window, if you can, to help with ventilation.
- Wear a face covering. It’s an added level of safety for you, your fellow passengers and our drivers.
- When leaving the bus stay seated, ring the bell and take everything with you.
- Let us know if you think your bus is too busy to allow for social distancing.
Paying for your journey:
- You can use contactless payment methods on all our buses.
- You can also buy tickets online and on our app.
- If you can only use cash, please have the exact fare.
